Wilhelm Friedemann Bach (1710-1784)
Summary
The eldest son of J. S. Bach. Bach accepted positions as organist in Dresden and then in Halle. In later relocated to Berlin working freelance. He was a proud man and barely survived. He died nearly broke leaving his wife in poverty. His Baroque style is competent but he was overshadowed by his brothers although his more famous brother C.P.E. Bach said "He could replace our father better than all the rest of us put together."
