Biographical
Born in Geneva, Switzerland. Bloch studied violin and composition. Bloch wrote several string quartets including: Schelomo--A Hebrew Rhapsody (for cello and orchestra) and A Voice in the Wilderness. Bloch became director of the Cleveland Institute of Music and later the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and taught at the University of California at Berkeley.
