Dirk Bouts (1415-1475)
Summary
Netherlandish painter, born in Haarlem and active in Louvain, where he was city painter from 1468. His influences include Rogier van der Weyden, and Petrus Christus. His style was continued by his two sons, Dieric the Younger and Aelbrecht. [Adapted from WebMuseum]
