Biographical
Pierre Boulez studied under Olivier Messiaen's at the Paris Conservatory. He began to conduct in 1950 becoming chief conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra (1971-74) and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra (1971-78). His more important orchestral works include his Domaines for clarinet and 21 instruments and his Rituel (in memoriam Bruno Maderna) for orchestra.

Am inclined to think that music expresses a social context en masse... and recently, not a lot of mystery. Nice blog BTW.
